The ICS membership year begins on July 1 and a Canada Day Picnic on July 1 provides the first of ICS's annual opportunities for individual and family fellowship for the Irish Canadian community and to promote awareness of the Irish and Canadian cultures and Irish-Canadian connections. Participation in ICS events is priced close to breakeven. Ordinarily,
there is a discount for paid-up members since their fees have already
contributed to the website, mailing and other communication and
administration costs involved. Where attendance must be limited,
preference is given to paid-up members. Many ICS events include
a raffle, the proceeds of which help pay for the prizes. A signature
prize is an ICS Canadiana basket. |
